These cradles and shelves may be mounted to virtually any sound wall surface of your home or garage or anywhere else outside that you can think of. Our Cedar Wall climbers are entirely hand-made from Aromatic Eastern Red Cedar. The slatted design allows moisture and dirt to escape freely. They are insect free and rot resistant. We use only weather resistant hardware during construction. Please note that cedar wood will “weather” after time, which may cause it to look gray. If you would like it to keep the same appearance as when it was new, simply seal it with a wood sealer from your local hardware store before you use it. This item is a SINGLE COMPONENT, consisting of your choice of ONE of the following items: (1) 24" x 10" shelf or (1) 36" x 10" shelf or (1) 48" x 10" shelf Installation info: It is always best to hit a stud. Stud finders are usually not beneficial when used on exterior walls. Typically you can measure 18” from the corner, and then 16” after that and you should be hitting a stud. You can test this theory by drilling a small hole with a tiny bit first. If you don’t find a stud you will have to repeat this process. It is always best to do this in a low spot that would be inconspicuous so you don’t have 100 little holes right in the middle of your wall! Then measure straight up for the placement. If your wall is made of stucco, you will definitely have to hit a wall stud Works great with siding and wood lap.
